Default Headlight problem

2019 f150 2.7 eco boost
I just bought the truck and I been noticing something strange . When the car is on park. I can rotate through the light switch to running like or headlight on and off and such. As soon as I put the truck on D the headlight turn on regardless if the switch is off or not and I can’t change anything I can’t turn them off I can’t put them on Auto and nothing . What could cause this? On park everything function fine but on Drive they are always on

Is it a Canadian truck? If so you can't control the DRL function without changing it in forscan. US trucks you can change the setting in the instrument cluster settings.

Are you sure it wasn't originally a Canadian truck? Because what you describe is exactly how Canadian trucks are since they have different DRL laws. I own a former Canadian and know how it works. I just don't care enough to dick around with forscan to change the setting.

If it’s a US made truck, it’ll definitely have a DRL option. You may have missed it, or it indeed could be Canadian as suggested.

This is what you’ll see if it’s US built.

Check your door stickers. Should say where it was manufactured. Likely a Canadian truck.

No F150s are made in Canada. All F150s are imported from the USA.
