Speaking of power point time outs. i did this change a while ago but never reallytested it. Well the other day I was charging my phone and it shuts off as soon as i open the door. Here is what i changed to. BCM 726-39-01 F000-0001-XXXX. What is the difference between timeout enabled and disabled. Is enabled using the timer. and disabled has no timeout and stays on indifinatly?

If the timeout is disabled it should stay on indefinitely. If enabled, it will remain on for the timeout value you have it set at. You had the time set at 17 hours (F000) but you had the timeout disabled (0001) so it should've stayed on indefinitely. If you want the 17 hour timeout value then set BCM 726-39-01 F000-0101-XXXX.

If memory serves me correctly, you need to shut off the engine before opening the door for it to work; if you open door and shut off engine it turns off. Again, this is from my foggy memory and this may be backwards.

Correct. Also, this is just the 12V receptacle and not the usb ports. I only say this cause I noticed you said you were charging your phone.

Same.

When I read each of the the DTC's I'm never concerned because each is usually just a timeout fault which I associate with not properly disconnecting my OBD MX in Windows before disconnecting the physical adapter from the port.

The protocol Windows uses to talk to HS-Can is some weird serial RS232 over bluetooth and there are a bunch of magic pixies inside every unit which make everything work. You should see that Forscan connects through Windows COM 3 and never Bluetooth if you look into it (even if the adapter is a bluetooth one such as Scan Tool's OBD MX BT).

On that note you can speed up the initial connection process as well between Forscan and your OBD module if you change Forscan's connection settings to 'COM' instead of 'Auto Connect'.

Anywho, my best tip is clear the DTC's and don't worry about it unless those DTC's are related to real world problems like an engine shutter.

When I went to exit the truck, a window popped up asking what alarm protection I wanted to select. I reconnected Forscan, wrote the original disabled selections to the IPC and cycled the Start button. When I went to exit the truck, the same alarm message came up. I used the menu to toggle the "Ask on exit" setting to off.

I then decided to program the temperature settings with the "Advanced" mode. Worked first try. :-) I then programmed the relock feature. Worked first try.

Not sure why the "easy" method didn't work for me, but that always seems to be the case.

Original values : 720-07-01 8409 8AA0 6046
Modified values : 720-07-01 8409 8E50 60FA

Anyway, thought you might like to know my experience. Thanks for the detailed write-up and for sharing your work.

That's odd in my Lariat there is an option right in the productivity screen which allows the driver to select if they would like to see the temperature or boost gauge. Why did you need Forscan for that? I see you have a Lariat as well.

Also, you listed original and modified values but listed a number of modifications throughout your post which makes it a tad bit confusing to follow. Which module do your values relate to? what is 720-07-01?

He's talking about using FORScan to change values so it displays the numerical temp value above the engine & trans gauge, not simply the ability to select between trans/boost with gauge selection in the cluster. There's a picture linked in post #1 in this thread if you want to see it.

The 720-07-01 is the IPC module.

It's confusing on how to get it to work.. I set mine to 3 hours. I have yet to figure it out. Turn off engine then open door it's off but only if I want it on.. the only thing that I have found is that if I want it to stay on it turns off and if I don't care it stays on forever.

Does FORScan have the ability to adjust the cruise control enable speeds?

My 2016 with Adaptive Cruise control will set as low as 30 mph, wanting to be able to engage it at say 20mph.
