Default Extended Coverage

I'm thinking of getting the premium extended coverage for my 150. I plan on keeping it for 5 years and I do tow a lot in the summer and fall (Lance trailer). I'm looking for opinions as to whether it's worth it. Thanks

Literally dozens of threads on this. Mixed opinions, majority against. House wins, rarely do you break even.

If you buy it, online dealers including Flood and Ziegler offer lower prices.

Thanks for feedback. Shame on me for not searching first. But I appreciate the summary. I have now looked and see that it's probably not worth the price. Thanks again.

I think the cost to repair one of the power deploying running boards alone is nearly a g-note. If it were a toyota, id pass but this is ford, and there are so many gadgets on these trucks now, it may be 2 grand well spent for ESP.

When I bought my truck from my dealer they did not even offer Ford ESP, they offered something called Secure Net (?) as a warranty. I was pretty surprised. Passed on it, and placed the order through flood when i got home.

+1 for the premium plan. I’m not too worried about the Powertrain but these trucks have so many electronics and tech features especially if you’re in a higher trim truck. I think it’s cheap ins that I’m reasonably confident will be needed somewhere down the road in 5 years.

I've been reading all of the older threads on this question and I think this quote is the main reason I was looking at the ESP. I realize it's personal, but at this point I think it might be good for me for peace of mind. I do appreciate all of the comments and can see how this is a gamble. But knowing my luck, if I don't get one, something electronically will break just as it goes out of warranty.

Unfortunately, the powertrain IS an issue on these trucks too (cam phasers, IWEs, etc), so I'm also thinking getting one for the first time ever... if I decide to keep it. Need to look into that as well. Have about a year left to do that.

Funny the warranty is the same price regardless of trim level. You’re a lot more likely to use it with the Limited trim vs the XL trim.
