Real question is why is your dealer overcharging haha

A lot of dealer will sell 3rd party ones also for even more profits

In doing my homework, I found out that dealers have flexibility to charge whatever they want. However the Ford web site is only allowed to charge MSRP.

When I bought my 2017 F-150 Platinum a few month ago it had 34K miles, so just about out of warranty. I bought a 5/75, no deductible, light option included and rental option Premium ESP for around 1200.00 from Flood Ford. My truck has every option so there is a lot of stuff that can go wrong and is expensive to fix and things do happen. At 35600 miles my dealer had to replace the entire rear window and the pano roof tracks. That was still covered by the 3/36 warranty but I would consider that a close call and would hate to pay for something like that.

I also bought the same type/coverage extended warranty for our Sprinter based RV and paid 3100.00 which is money well spent in my book. I like to have peace of mind.

Is like home insurance, it protects you in the background and will pay if needed. Nobody ever complained about home insurance.

My truck is the second new vehicle I bought (2012 Highlander) that has an extended warranty bought from Zeigler Ford OEM. When I joined here and read about some of the out-of-warranty costs they were scary, whether it's done at a Ford dealer or elsewhere. Those costs sold me 100% to buy another one.

With the technology that comes with most all trucks today, and my Platinum is no exception, IMO a Ford ESP was a no-brainer. Since we don't put a lot of miles on our truck I bought a 6/48,000 with 'Lights' for $695. Even if we put a lot of miles on our new truck whatever that cost would be is still a 'no-brainer' IMO.

For years I was also on that group that said an extended OEM warranty was a waste of money but not anymore!

Does our f150forum.com still get the $250 coupon (PAYINFULL) with purchase from Zeigler?

Don't get the one by CNA.... They wouldn't replace my tail light that filled with water ($500), or fix my badly leaking sunroof ($2600)..

They did cover the reprogramming of my 360 cameras ($150), when the system decided it wasn't going to sync the cameras anymore.

Extended warranty is not like home insurance... your auto insurance is like your home insurance... !!!

These trucks are packed with expensive gadgets, gizmos and doodads. Power folding mirror? $1500+. LED headlight/tail light w BLIS? Forget about it. I bought the 7 yr/125k premium esp from Zeigler, with rental car, interior/exterior lighting and key fob coverage. I’m planning on driving it til the wheels are square. And if I change my mind, the warranty is transferable to the next owner, or prorated refundable.

We've been ones, in most vehicles, to not purchase an ESP. DW and I have purchased 7 brand new vehicles over the last 20 years (usually driving them 6-8 years and 125k-150k miles), and we've yet to own a vehicle where It would have 'paid' to get the ESP. That said, what I have noticed is that we tend to let little things go that we'd correct with an ESP (our '17 Explorer, for example, has the keypad entry disengaged because it was going to cost $750 to replace the module and we could simply disconnect for a $150 service fee). Given that we will be entering the college years for kids in a few years and will remain there until 2031, and our hope to keep the F150 for that duration. Thus, we do plan on getting an 8 year plan from Flood before we hit the 36m/36k mark. We want to make sure we stay on top of every detail to ensure the longevity of the truck.

Zeigler typically has the best price on the internet. 269.685.3557. Forum members get a huge discount.
