Default ESP plans

What have you guys got for extended warranty's? Ford or? My dealer wants to sell me Fidelity Warranty Services, Inc.
Has anyone used their plan? How was it? Did they cover what they said they would?

There's a few dealers that will sell those to you quite cheap. As I understand it, you can buy it after the fact and even right up until just before your factory warranty runs out. It's something like half of what dealers want.

I would (and have) only purchase a Ford warranty. The best pricing I could find was from Flood Ford. When I presented my selling dealer with their prices they (somewhat grudgingly) met their pricing. By the way, our trucks started life nearly identical, I have just made some changes. Good lucking truck if I d say so myself.

The only time that you should consider an ESP that is not backed by Ford Corporate, is if it is free.

I just pulled up the Flood Ford (coincidental name for someone selling warranties) table of options and took a screen shot to take to the dealer. There's a lot of info--4 different types, 4 different deductibles, 7 different mileages, 6 different year options. I want all of that at my fingertips when I go in there in a week or two to pick up my truck.

Good strategy. I did the same and saved over $400

A couple of things to keep in mind. The vanishing deductible works on plans purchased and used at the same dealer. If the dealer offers to match the price, it may be slightly higher due to added sales tax. Flood Ford does not charge sales tax out of state, but the vanishing deductible may make it a better deal even at a little higher cost. I purchased mine at Flood.

Any advice on ESP purchases in Canada? Flood will only sell if you have a US address.

Keep in mind that any extended warranty program is designed so that you, the consumer, loses. Just like going to the casino, the house always wins. Rarely does a consumer save more than they paid for the extended warranty. Rarely.

Many threads discussing Flood and other dealers online that beat everyone IF you insist on getting one. You can get it up to the end of your 3 year bumper to bumper warranty, costs about $100 more after the first year.
