Unhappy Electrical System Failure

I have a F150 Lariat with 28,000 miles that is having Navigation Fault, Cross Traffic Fault lights, AC, and Nothing in Dash works when this happens. It's in the shop now for work. But my dealer does not give Rental cars, or loaner cars for warranty work. Is this common with all Ford Dealers? I was told that if I had purchased an Extended Warranty a Rental car would have been provided? How does one shop around for the best price for an extended warranty through ford? I not really happy with Ford right now, and not sure if I will ever purchase another. Was really close to buying my second car, was looking at the Ford Explorer but now having second thoughts, any suggestions?

^ Ignore that.

Not giving loaners is common for pretty much all dealers, in my experience. Most buyers who get a loaner specifically got that written into the bill of sale when they bought the truck, guaranteeing it.

The invoice for my F150 clearly states loaner vehicles are NOT provided and the dealer both verbally and in writing had me acknowledge that loaners weren't provided. If I expected a loaner vehicle, I should have purchased extended warranty which included a loaner vehicle.

Check with your auto insurance company. Many allow you to add a loaner vehicle during repairs for just a few bucks a month.

Does anyone else feel like this is a way for the dealers to strong arm you into an extended warranty? I have a smaller town dealer and they always put me in something as a loaner (last time was a 2011 F150). Even the big town dealer (town of 165k people) gives out loaners if your vehicle will be in the shop multiple days.

Just seems like another way for the dealer to push you into an upsale...

Could be, especially for folks who don't know they can usually just get a loaner added to their insurance for cheap, like funford said.

The dealers can provide anything but it all comes at a cost. When it has become common practice to purchase at or below invoice, where does that expense go?

Nothing in life is free.
