My son got a 16 fusion titanium and I asked, because of our winters here in Buffalo New York, for a four wheel or all-wheel-drive loaner and it was no problem at all. Neither of us paid sticker price. My son got $500 under invoice plus all incentives on his 14 XLT and I got X plan plus all incentives and private cash on my 15 Lariat. Perhaps I just have a good dealership. Towne Ford but at least they understand that making payments to Ford Motor credit and having to pay rental on a loaner car while warranty work is being performed on the vehicle you bought from them is an unacceptable business practice. If I bought a vehicle from a dealer that didn't supply a free loaner for warranty work, it would be the last vehicle I ever bought from them.
So you feel you are entitled to a loaner vehicle?

My dealer provides one as a courtesy, if one is available. I had to drop my truck off to check on an issue early AM and my service advisor reserved one. If one isn't available, they make every effort to provide transportation - shuttle to where I need to go. If multiple stops, they ask I call when I need a ride and they pick me as quickly as possible (normally within 15 minutes). In the case of the shuttle, they deliver the truck.

The loaner is a courtesy. Attitude is a big part of it. Go in and ask "where's my loaner" will get you nowhere in a dealer where they are running short on loaners. You could ask if they could help with the cost of a rental. They normally get the less expensive corporate rate.

Yes... I do! Because I think it's good business to do so. Not sure if they do or don't but Ford should reimburse them for it. After all, it's their vehicle defect causing the inconvenience to the customer and why should I, or anyone else for that matter, be put out financially in any form for a manufacturing defect? Towne Ford does this whether you buy a Limited F-150 or a base Focus model. The old Rainbow Ford in Niagara Falls, NY did this too in the 90s. Kudos to them all. I've never had to pay for a loaner ANYWHERE!
