Default The dreaded SHUDDER

So here is my dilemma...I just bought a 2016 Lariat Sport w/26000m. Dealership sucked but it loved the truck. I noticed a 'shudder' in the drivetrain at the test drive, bought it anyway, they said they would fix it, they didn't. Now its at a Ford dealership under original warranty getting 'fixed'. So far the dealership has rebuilt my rear end because the gears were destroyed, now they are replacing the torque converter after consulting "the Ford engineers". I should have the truck back in a few days.

1. If the rear end and TC have been blown out so soon what else am I looking at next????

2. Has anyone had a similar issue with this new of a truck?

3. I know if I go on WebMD and type in the symptoms my truck might have cancer, so please don't tell me adding 'shudder fix' will alieviate the problem in a 2016 transmission....and yes the wheels have been balanced. lol

Not want you want to hear but had the same shudder with my 16 lariat fx4. Ford ended up making me a deal so I took it and moved to an 18. Here is a link to another thread where I described everything they did without resolution.

I feel your pain! I hope they get it fixed!

***Final Update***

So, come to find out, the entire problem was the leveling kit that was installed by the previous owner. The last time I brought the truck in the dealer had that "Ford Specialist" come and look at it. He pointed out right away it had a 2.5" level with a 3" rear block. They returned it to stock height and BOOM, it rides perfect.

Did they charge you for what they replaced to that point?

I’m done with leveling kits. The factory engineers designed these trucks for service and reliability. Anytime you mess with aftermarket leveling devices, there are compromises, like when you hook up to tow a heavy load and find your headlights are aiming for the sky, like when your front end alignment is out of spec and wearing out your Michelins, like when your elderly aunt needs a stool to get into the truck, not to mention the kids and the dog, like when your truck is too tall to clear the garage door, like when you jump out of the truck onto the ground and nearly break an ankle. I suppose that’s the price you have to pay for looking cool.

Sounds like the 3" block was the issue. Must have been bad u-joint angles?

They didn't charge me to bring it back to factory height. I believe they did it at no charge because it took them 6 months to realize there was a leveling kit on the truck. They did keep the blocks though. They gave me a BS reason about core charges as to why I couldn't get the blocks back. I was so glad to be done with it I let it slide.
