this USB is a PDI USB sent by ford for dealers to install current maps before customer takes delivery.. and according to the technician the autoinstall.lst looks like so:
Anyway as already mentioned it is pretty pointless given you still need a registration key tied to a specific APIM to use the new maps. Unless some underground forum has already hacked that, which wouldn't completely surprise me.
Sorry to break the current train of thinking... I just wanted to update anyone that had been following my frustrations... I did install the new USB, and carplay was working great, and I was happy... Then one day it wouldn't work/connect... it is still the same old, one time you get in and it works flawlessly, then the next time, no Bluetooth, no USB audio, no nav, and no carplay...
Made an appointment for a new APIM next Saturday... I think I have tried every single other thing you can try to get it to work and nothing has helped.
Is anyone able to download anything from the owners website? I have tried for weeks and all I get is spinning. I'm just trying to upgrade my 17 from 2.0 to 2.3 software. It tells me its available when I login but I'm unable to download.
Hello all I'm in Canada. Just got a USB plug from ford: HC3Z-19A387-B and replaced my old one. When I replaced it and turned the truck on and plugged my phone in nothing happened except the usual charging. No apple carplay pops up in setting (iPhone user). So I checked the usb plug connections those were fine. Checked my new plug the sticker on it says it's a different part as seen on the picture below. I tried master resting no luck. Tried both usb no luck. I did the sync 3 update long ago and just recently decided to buy the plug. Help!!! Any troubleshooting tips?
