I don't want to give out the exact name for obvious reasons however if you search "andriod auto xda" on Google and do A little bit of searching for the term "mirror" as the thread title you'll find it. 👍
Hello all I'm in Canada. Just got a USB plug from ford: HC3Z-19A387-B and replaced my old one. When I replaced it and turned the truck on and plugged my phone in nothing happened except the usual charging. No apple carplay pops up in setting (iPhone user). So I checked the usb plug connections those were fine. Checked my new plug the sticker on it says it's a different part as seen on the picture below. I tried master resting no luck. Tried both usb no luck. I did the sync 3 update long ago and just recently decided to buy the plug. Help!!! Any troubleshooting tips?
Ive seen this before (in Alberta). I had to reset the apim before it came up. Disconnect the car battery for a minute if you dont have ForScan.
Other things to check is if CarPlay is enabled in your iPhone settings, your Sync 3 firmware version which must be 2.0 or higher, and there could be a chance because of cheapskates the usb hub you bought is a used old one.
Sadly scammers are out there which buy new USB hubs and return the old ones in the new box for a refund or exchange Ive come across 2 cases like that in Edmonton.
It looks like you are using an OE Apple USB cable. Some people dont know there are actual ICs in USB cables, but given that one is likely the factory cable Id rule that out.

Here is an explanation of every file currently available in every version of Sync 3 worldwide...Technically I'm not posting any links here. I'm just reposting a mysteriously sourced PDF which might accidentally happen to have every hyperlink in it for every Sync 3 file ever.

I love youuuu maannnn!! your pdf just hit home run for me after this list I found..i had no idea what I needed
Early versions which have been patched out by Google were called YouTube Auto.
The current version is called CarStream. It's for Android devices only (which I hope was obvious), the current recompiled version of CarStream is 1.7.0.

I can neither confirm nor deny making that .pdf. The info was from Hillary's email server lol. Actually, credit goes to the overseas Sync 3 discussion boards. My ahh ha moment was looking at the install utilities and seeing that Ford wrote a script to verify nav VS non nav partition sizes. That seems to be a key part and is the first step of every update they publish, before this list I thought that software part number was a reference to licence info.

I've learned a lot from that file already and it's only been a day. One of the utilities that runs at the end of every install (software part number GB5T-14G386-AA) is a small little script that exports an XML file back onto your USB drive. Within that info it states a partition health report near the bottom which is sort of handy.
If I'm not mistaken we are racing each other to see who can successfully install 1.16_NA maps first. Good thing it's only -30 outside this weekend right?
My best advice if you are building your own package is skip the voice pack updates and probably gracenotes too. They are coded with a number in a bracket to indicate which languages are included (reference the legend). That makes it easy to choose the right files, apart from language there is a separate code for region indicating Global (GL), EU, China (CH) and North America (NA); but there are reports that the old files may not be overwritten and the storage may run out on your APIM if you accidentally mix and match regions. I suspect that has more to do with how people are compiling packages though. If that happens, the only thing to do would be to telnet in and start deleting files manually which is something I'm keen to avoid.
While it sucks to now realize just how old maps are (I can't believe new Fords today are shipping with maps from August 2014), I doubt 1.16 NA will be much better. These 'latest maps' from Ford are two years old .
For fun, check out the release date listed for Sync 3 V3.2.18004 lol. I wonder if that is any official indication of when Waze might launch support for Ford App Link or just an actual joke?

Also make sure CarPlay is enabled on Sync and try another cable - just in case
