Should I be able to see text messages on my screen using CarPlay? When I go to messages, it shows me a list of my recent texts. When I hit the compose new text message (top right of screen) nothing happens. I have version 2.2 installed. Am I missing something?

I have tried the master reset function with no luck.

 

I installed it and it fried my navigation.

 

Did you install the Nav version, or Non-Nav version?

Make sure USB stick is removed from the truck. Turn off the truck. Go back in 30 min, and then start your truck and see if Nav has finished initializing. If not, repeat the installation.

 

No it didnt. This is normal. APIM needs a full reset once or twice to force Nav to come back. You can achieve this with a module reset using forscan or by simply disconnecting your battery for a minute.

Went back out and cranked the truck. Sat there a minute and the maps started loading up. I checked the version numbers and it was back.

 

Awesome. I had a feeling the background tasks/initialization wasn't complete. Glad it worked out for you.

 

if that happens again where nav seems "frozen" dont worry, just need to restart again or wait abit longer before the first restart. my 2012 GT with the older system had the same way too where the radio wouldnt work and the nav looked blank.
