Works fine, 2016 f150 platinum with nav

 

Hi, I have a 2016 F150 with Sync 3 but my version is 1.0 build 15139
What is the best way to upgrade to the latest version?

Go to www.owner.ford.com After registering you can download the update, which needs to go onto a usb flash drive which then goes into the truck to update. Full instructions are on that website.

 

That website is also kinda fubar. My truck said no updates for 6 months when there was a 2.1 or a 2.2. So the sites useless :P manually downloaded and installed from another site to get the update.

again people can install what they want, Ford takes to long for updates

2018 Platinum 3.0 working great. Much smoother

 

Site says version 2.2, where can I download version 3.0?

Has anyone upgraded their Iphone to iOS 11 yet? I've heard that they now restrict text messaging, notifications, typing in map destinations, etc from your actual phone when connected via bluetooth or cable through carplay? Currently I can control my phone from the phone or from the truck's screen when connected. I really don't want to lose this functionality....

Cool, just upgraded from version 1.0 to 2.2 on my 2016 F150 and Android Car is working, no need to change the USB hub

I have has iOS 11 since beta and I can do everything on my phone I could before. there is a do not disturb while driving mode that shuts off notifications but you can turn that on and off.

as far as I know on carplay you cant type messages on the truck screen, you have to use Siri to compose and read/reply. it actually works really well which surprised me.

I havent used maps much. I did find that I wasnt able to do anything else on my phone while maps was running without it closing on my truck screen too. If that makes sense. let me know if there is something specific you want me to try to do
