Current SYNC 3 and CarPlay/Android Auto Information
Hi everyone. I've tried reading many many posts but can't find a clear answer. I updated from v1.1 to 2.2 BEFORE the official update. After, there were many glitches with android auto (plug in phone and AA doesn't load. unplug replug several times then it will, press voice button and music in background doesnt mute so google wheel spins and spins, etc) I was wondering if redownloading and reinstalling update would help but can't find it anywhere. ford site says I'm already at 2.2 so no luck there. I've performed master reset and power+forward button reset with no luck. Overall, just doesn't seem stable.
I have 16280_product v2.2 with gracenote numbers listed. Whats the best way to reinstall and where do I find the NAVIGATION version? Is it my APIM? take to dealer? would moving to version 17011 help? if so, where do I download nav version? prior links in prior posts didn't work anymore. Help please! Michael

I have a nav unit coming from a fusion. I have sync software from an f150 that was nav enabled, with this be ok? Anything special I need to do besides upload my AS Built Data (of course with my mods)?
Cant wait till its here!
Thanks

I remember reading somewhere that the order did indeed matter. In my case using a Mac first attempts simply broke out all the files, wouldn't work. For Mac I had to download and use STUFFIT from app store for zip file to unpack it in correct order and to include syncmyride folder.
autoinstall.lst
DONTINDX.MSA
SyncMyRide ( this is folder then in that folder following )
GB5T-14G386-AA.tar.gz
HB5T-14G386-TCB.tar.gz
HN1T-14G381-SA.tar.gz
HN1T-14G391-CC.tar.gz
HN1T-14G423-CA.tar.gz
As I said once I had in proper order and in a folder update went smoothly after previous tries all failed. I believe having two files then folder, then having 5 files in order in that folder is mandatory for an auto operation upgrade.

Do these files need to be unzipped before moving over to USB drive?

I am having the exact same issue using an LG G3. AA was working perfectly when I upgraded sync 3 with the early release now it is almost unusable. When I say "OK Google" it will not respond most of the time. If I hit the voice command button it will try to respond but does not mute my radio. It's really making me mad at this point.
If I perform the upgrade will I be able to plugin my phone and use Waze on the phone's screen for navigation and listen to Spotify while CarPlay is on the center console screen for hands free text messages and other stuff?
No, you will not be able to use Waze. I tried putting Android auto back on my phone yesterday and fought with it all the way home. Could not send a text message through AA. Ask for the nearest movie theater and that wouldn't work either. The only navigation you can use is the Google Maps.
You will be able to use waze on the phone screen with android, with a few extra taps to get out of the android auto lock down. Not sure how the iPhone reacts to having carplay, but I think it has been shown to work on the phone screen while connected to carplay on iOS as well.
I'm sorry, I misread your post. I was thinking you asked about Waze on the screen in the truck. That you can't do, but you can use it on the phone, like he said you have to back out of AA to do it.
