Does anyone know if the new USB hubs have a higher charging rate? Will they charge at a 2 amp rate or the same .5 amp as the old ones?

Where is anyone in Canada getting this new USB module from (HC3Z-19A387-B)? I'd rather not order it from a US website as the exchange rate and duties will make it over $100CAD (local price I have is $70). I've had it on order from my local dealer since the middle of October and they are saying that it is still showing as on back order with no ETA. They've also shown me a screen stating that there was only 1 location in Canada which showed it being in stock, however when I called that location, they said they didn't have it anymore and must've sold it a few weeks ago.

The ports are still the same smart ports for charging. I haven't seen a difference in charge rate with my phone. The ports can supply up to 2 amps, but it depends on the device connecting. It sounds like if the negotiation fails the ports just provide .5 amps.

From service manual:

The USB hub allows for various audio devices to play content through the vehicle speakers. The USB hub contains one or two USB port(s), depending on the vehicle equipment. If the vehicle is equipped with a remote USB port, the USB hub contains one USB port. If the vehicle is not equipped with a remote USB port, the USB hub contains two USB ports.

Data is sent from the USB hub and remote USB port (if equipped) to the APIM through the USB hub-to- APIM USB cable. Although there are multiple USB ports in the system, there is only one cable connecting the USB hub to the APIM.

The USB hub receives voltage and ground through dedicated circuits from the APIM. The USB ports can be used to power and/or charge a device if the device supports this feature and does not have a power consumption requirement of more than approximately 5V and 2.5A (about 13 watts).

i purchased mine in port Huron Michigan. North gate ford. They had it in in 2 days. I live on a border city so just went to the USA and picked it up. Their computer also said back ordered. So I was surprised that it came in so quickly. I think it was around $55 usd.

Thanks for the info. I'm going to go ahead and order the hub now, hopefully it won't take TOO long to get.

The sales guy told me that Apple CarPlay was supported, but we couldn't get it to work when I took delivery of the vehicle. I didn't worry about it too much, figuring I'd do a little research and make sure there wasn't a setting that needed to be changed on my phone.

Imagine my surprise when I found out that I'd need replacement hardware to make it happen... I was pretty upset.

I'm glad that it's only about $50 plus shipping, but I wish I would have known about this before I took the purchase satisfaction survey that Ford sent me.

I would love to test, I would be using android auto, on a 2016 Mustang, with navigation tho. Sorry if this doesn't help.

He already posted that he has enough testers. I think you are out of luck.

New hub installed. Just patiently waiting on the update. Looks like we might be getting close. I know you are filled up on testers but if you need one with navigation I would be happy to help

Default More feedback on Sync3 2.2

Got to go out on my 1st drive at lunch. This is with Android Auto
1. heated steering wheel button no longer changes the color of the entire button, only a little square on the lower right to indicate it is on.

2. When AA is active the NAV button is gone and changed to Maps which pulls up google maps. This is true even if you exit the AA interface from the far right button. I had to unplug the phone to get the trucks Nav back. Didn't try disabling AA from the sync settings screen yet to see if the nav button returns so i can charge my phone with out AA yet.

3. Several instances as i was screwing around with it AA crashed and I had to unplug and reconnect the phone. This isn't my 1st vehicle with AA, I had the Pioneer 4100NEX in my last truck. Granted google updated the AA app twice since I last used it so this may not be fords fault.

Please no PMs for the software. Jason closed down testing for a reason.
