I have a 2016 Expedition Limited and I downloaded the 2.2 update and tried to do the first install and got this run out of space error many times, even after master resets.
My vehicle is currently on v. 1.0 Build 15139 and I don't have NAV.

Any ideas?
You tried to load the wrong version. Use the non-nav version.
Add me to the list of successful, uneventful upgrades to V2.2 non-nav. I noticed SYNC seems a lot smoother, and now my buttons are different colors (which I tried to do before with Forscan but it was buggy). Very happy!
The good thing with Android Auto is that your maps for navigation are always up to date, not updated yearly at the cost of $99 or whatever it is up to these days.
Good point. I also listen to many different music sources(SIRIUS, terrestrial, Pandora) so I have to go back to Sync a lot. The Pandora app does work a lot better on AA. Pandora is still really buggy on Sync even after the update.
I want to thank all the people in the thread for all the help and testing. I purchased a late build date 2016 XLT with Sync 3 2.0. I just swapped the hub and carplay worked perfectly.
