Got mine here:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI...338&rmvSB=true

CarPlay part (installed)
HC3Z-19A387-B (part order number)
HC3T-14F014-BC (part label)

Already had SYNC v2.0 (non-Nav) on new 2016 and I'm not going to update right away.

I did a full reset and plugged in the iPhone. Everything worked perfectly.

Hey all great thread here, I've been following for quite a while. I have a 2016 XLT 5.0 SCrew 502A NON_NAV built in August with Sync 3 v2.0. Android Auto does not want to stay working for me and I'm hoping the 2.2 upgrade will fix it, I have a galaxy S6 Edge and AA will start then fail and say usb device not responding (tried countless cables). I'm confident in what I need to do to upgrade and I see that some of you have done the 2.0-2.2 upgrade with the 1-2.2 file even though it says not to. Can anyone that has done this (hopefully NON-NAV) confirm that it works and there have been no issues? any feedback is much appreciated!

Patiently waiting for the official release.
I've been running 2.2 since before Xmas.

Not one glitch or problem.

I think I did mine the week between Christmas and New Years. I've had a couple glitches. The automatic system updates fails to check for updates. If I do a hard reset, it will check the first time and only the first time. I've also had issues when I have AA connected, and leave the truck with my phone still connected. When I come back and start up, it crashes and I have to disconnect and reconnect my phone. I'd say both are minor.

I've got my wifi turned off. I don't like "upgrading" all the time if what I've got works just fine "as is".

I also have an iphone and tried carplay (installed compatible hub). Didn't like it, so I disabled it and have been running sync ever since. But everything else in teh phone works without a hitch: texting, phone, siri, streaming, etc....

Just FYI. I just got off the phone with Ford customer service (after escalating 3 levels) that they do not know when the 2016 Sync 1.0 update to 2.2 will be available, but are being told by engineering that it will happen sometime in 2017. To be fair, she said that could be a week or it could be a lot longer, she could not be definitive. I recall seing a tweet directly from Ford that said it would be out by the end of 2016 too.

Changing topics here - what do you all think of Apple Car play vs the ford software? What are you using? I have both an android phone and an Iphone. Seems to me that Android auto works a bit better. Apple maps is not nearly as good as Google Maps.

Long time lurker, who else is still running Sync 3 1.0? My 2016 (May) XLT is stuck on 1.0, and I am eagerly anticipating Android Auto. Does anyone know when 2.0 will be available to all 2016 models? And do i need to upgrade the USB for android auto? I have seen so much contradictory information i am not sure what is and is not true.

Default SUCCESS, v1.0 - v2.2 with OSX

I have a 2016 F-150 XLT with NAV. and had SYNC v1.0

I formatted the USB on my Macbook Pro using the app Disk Utility. You must format the USB to EXFAT in the drop down and you must use at least a 2GB USB drive.

Of Note, make sure you have enough gas in your truck to leave it running for a bit, about 30 minutes.

The link for the update file I used is here.

https://docs.google.com/uc?export=do...XpfdnVNNlVjdzg

After you unzip the file within the unzipped downloaded file, you will have the folder “UPGRADE FILE”, DO NOT just grab that folder but open it and drag and drop the contents into the USB drive. The USB drive should have “autoinstall.lst” and a folder named “SyncMyRide”

I started my truck, waited for the radio to come on and plugged in the USB drive, then I left my truck running. After about 30 minutes, It said “update complete”, I removed the USB drive and turned off my truck. Waited about 5 minutes, restarted my truck and I now have SYNC v2.2.

Now to order the module. I will get it here, Mike was extremely helpful previously.

Good Luck

Please read this thread. It has all of the info to let you upgrade to 2.2. You do not need to upgrade the usb hub for Android Auto to work.
