Lol, true!

I have to say, I've been following this thread since before Christmas and I finally decided to make the jump as I'd like to have a navigation option, through CarPlay, in the truck. With all the videos, guidance, and assistance, mostly everyone have had successful upgrade experiences!

Still seems like a fairly straight forward procedure! Hardest part so far was switching out that USB hub, without scratching or smudging the plastic! Patience, plastic pry tools and painters tape! (All the hints from the endless pictures and videos I saw/watched!)

I'm sure it'll work, but I'm concerned that without the retaining clips on the OEM cable, this could eventually work itself loose. I don't know? I've tried searching for this, and I thought I remembered seeing discussion on it, but could someone tell me what OEM cable works for connecting between the Sync 3 APIM and the USB hub (to work with carplay), please???

Thanks!
I taped it in place but here are some parts in the bottom section

Looks like just #6 if you don't have a console and then add #7 if you do.

Chat with them to confirm

I just upgraded my 15 platinum to Sync 3 and love it compared to the old Sync 2 system. Apple car play works flawlessly so far no complaints.

When I purchased my APIM, the seller didnt know if it was from a nav or non-nav vehicle. When I did my install, navigation didnt pop up, so I did my upgrade to 2.2 with the non-nav version. If my APIM had Nav and I did the wrong update, could this be the reason for the DTC errors? Navigation Fault & Lost Communication with ACM "C"?

Did you change the as built data to have nav enabled? if so then you probably don't have nav and thats why your getting those errors. do you have the part number on the back I can tell you by that if its nav or not?

Also I don't think it would have started the install if it was nav...

Thank you, that would explain the fault message. How do I turn it off? I just copied the set up from another post.
