I'm guessing you're probably still safe, unless it just won't shut off at all. It'd probably take at least a couple hours to run the battery dry on just the radio alone if I had to guess.

Has nothing to do with key pad. If your truck is locked or unlocked, if you open it with the key, the remote or the key pad doesn't matter. Open door, hit radio power button, radio comes on. Upgrade had nothing to do with this. Radio will shut off after a certain amount of time.

If you read your manual, you can just run the radio without touching the power/start button. Just press the volume control for a few seconds and the radio comes on. Great if you are just sitting in the truck, with it turned off and waiting for someone. Has always done that in the 2016.

And if you hit the power/start button without stepping on the brake, you go into accessory mode, just like when you used a key.

There's no reason at all for the 2.0 systems to be updated to the 2.2. The "read me" file inidicates that the 2.2 update is only for Sync versions 1.0 and 1.1. Updating a 2.0 to 2.2 "may" cause system damage per the file.

The update I did said it was only good to update from V1.0 /1.1. If it was me I'd wait till Ford does the full release. You might run into some issues otherwise.

I saw that but wasn't sure if it was an incremental change as well (eliminate some of the bugs in 2.0) based on the download links, thanks for the clarification.

I've at least got my USB hub, so I will see how the CarPlay works when I get the truck tomorrow.

Mine last checked 10/03/2016. It has wifi access when in garage. Message is misleading. If it hasn't checked for updates, how does it know there isn't one available? There are no instructions I can find in the manuals to make it check for updates. Im not concerned since I know from this forum there is no official release for 2016s. I'm waiting on official release and then figure out what this message really means.

turn the auto updates off, wait a bit, then back on and it will check.

How is the message misleading? It says it last checked on "X" date, and that's what it did.

Default What am I missing?

Hello All,

New owner and member here. I read through pretty much this entire post and I am missing something. I have a 2016 Screw with Sync 3 and Version 2.0. I understand the installed USB hub does NOT work with CarPlay. It also will not charge any device I plug into it. Not sure if this is also supposed to occur.

I purchased and installed part #GJ7Z-19A387-B. Phones still will NOT charge with this hub installed and CarPlay does NOT work either. I did a Factory Restore after the install and still no go. I have tried the following Apple devices:
iPhone 7+
iPhone 6
iPhone 6+
iPad Mini 4 - Wanted to see if the device would charge
iPad 2 - Wanted to see if the device would charge

What am I missing here?

thanks in advance,

John
