been using Android Auto since the 2.2 files were available. 2016 lariat w/ nav
2 issues with my oneplus 3T - no clue if these are because of the phone or not.

When i navigate thru my contacts on car screen, and try to dial, been getting a "network" error and it wont let me dial. i can initiate the call from my phone and everything works normal from there.

2nd issue - when someone calls me, and i answer the call, the audio plays thru my phone instead of the BT/car. My phone is on BT as the audio out source. Switching it to another out source, i believe it is handset speaker...whatever the 2nd option is on the phone pull down menu, kicks the call to be thru car's BT.

Weird. I have tried repairing...I am leaning towards it being a phone issue.

Default Going for broke...

Got the V2.0 hub installed and many thanks to jmr061 for posting the part number. I have a appointment with my dealer to flash the firmware in the morning. To bad Ford let us down and did not release the file before the end of the year. I would recommend if you live near a Harbor Freight Tools, picking up one of the trim removal tools. Prying the old hub out with a screwdriver would surely damage the plastic. It took me about 15 minutes to get the old one out. Also, don't slide back and forth on the seats and build up static electricity on your body. The IC's in the hub could be damaged. That is the reason the hub is in a pink wrapper. I would say that is the only other thing you have to guard against.

1. Can anyone please link to the downloads to go from: 2.0-2.2? I have NON-NAV!
2. And if anyone finds the video showing how to pop the USB trim piece out that would be AWESOME.

Thank you very much for helping me find the links! =)
With 2.0 you don't need 2.2 for CarPlay. I just purchased my truck, it has 2.0, all I had to do was install the new USB hub. There is no video that I am aware of, I just did it very carefully. It come out easy but it will come out.

Dealer won't have the software to flash.

Default v1.1 to 2.2 Successful!

Thanks for the information on this Sync 3 update. I successfully updated my Sync 3 version 1.1 to 2.2.

I switched from the iPhone6s to the Google Pixel (Android) a month ago. I like it so much better!

Worked better than my iPhone Sync 3 version 1.1, but now with v2.2 I am blown away at how awesome Android Auto works, looks, and integrates!

1- No hardware update to USB ports
2- Full screen Google maps on a truck with no factory navigation. Fully functional with finger zoom gestures and all.
3- Full Google assistant functionality that comes on the pixel phone. It's amazing!
4- Pandora full screen functionality, thumbs up/down, bookmark, full screen album art work. Etc...

Awesome improvement Ford!

Works great IMO. I really love having Google Maps (with live traffic/rerouting, great search, etc) and much prefer it to any other NAV I could have got in/for the truck.

The Pandora and Google Music Apps look great as well. Nice simple interface that looks great. Super easy to switch back to Sync if you want to listen to the normal radio too.

I'm using the Google Pixel XL, and have been an
"Android Guy" for a while. I think that the Pixel phones are the first Android phones that I think hardcore iPhone guys would prefer over the iPhone. Soooo smooth and well thought out.

I do prefer Google Maps over the Ford Nav system as well - much better at searching and with traffic conditions.

I hate the way Google Play Music and the other AA music apps function though, because there is no way to use voice commands to play specific albums. I prefer having my music on a USB - SYNC does a superior job in managing music through voice commands. This alone will likely keep me from using AA.

I am interested in hearing how Car Play manages music.

Does android auto work without being plugged in?
