Disregard .. Google is my friend:

Each F-150 vehicle rolls out of assembly with a default key code. To change this code, you will first have to enter the existing five digit code into the keypad on the driver side door. After that, push the 1•2 button and proceed to enter the new code.

It’s possible to add an additional code but you can’t change the master code.

You can enter new codes, but you cannot change the original code.

So, will the original code still work if I change it? That does not make sense...

The original "factory" code cannot be changed. You can add additional custom codes that can be changed at will but the one created at the factory is always available

The keypad could be bad or the battery died... EDIT- I now realize the keypad is plugged in unlike my 2018 Transit which uses a battery powered stick on keypad- completely wireless.

Since we are talking keypads.....does anyone know if the factory sticks them on or the dealer?

Mine is a little crooked- bugs me everytime I see it getting in....
