SS does not work with a Trailer connected, by design. You would not want the motor to stop every time, with a Trailer in tow.
You just lose the guidelines and alarm in reverse same as if a Trailer were in use when they have no value.
Good luck.
Why would you make the compromise on loosing features vs a less than 100 plug and play module that goes inline with the button and just remembers the state of the button when the truck is turned off.

Sir, listen, it's the decision of each individual on what to do.
I gave a temporary solution to the issue.
Others disconnect plugs, jumper contacts, take the feature out in software, etc. Ask them your question.
Ask why others do what they do to their trucks and get all the answers you want to hear.
You object to a simple plug in the rear trailer connector that does not alter anything and removed at will.
You lose the same screen info and alarm with a Trailor plug connected to either 4 pin or 7 pin sockets.
Think what you want about this as I have no responsibility to reply with an answer of what I have already explained that you know you will not except.
Therefore, nothing changes.

Ordered Friday the 24th, installed today the 27th. I have been willing to push the button not so much to save the $100 (well $76.50) but so I didn't have to take any of the dash apart. Hoping I don't wish I'd listened to myself because the top piece doesn't fit the radio bezel nearly as tight as it did before. If it rattles I am going to be MFering myself till I buy new replacement parts.

Or, dealer needs to remove that bezel to get APIM number to order a replacement.....they screwed it up.

I installed my Autostop Eliminator today (on my 2018 F150 Lariat) - easy bezel removal using a decent set of trim removal tools and I have a mini ratchet wrench for the 7 mm socket. I opted to push the Hazzard / AutoStop button through the bezel vs digging around behind trying to unplug the connector. The new AutoStop Eliminator slips right back through the button's hole with room to spare once connected inline. Bezel and top tray all went back securly. It all seems to function fine. Now I just have to get un-used to reaching for the button when I start the truck.

I have the Autostop Eliminator and it works great. Worth the money as I don't have to think about it anymore. Easy install. Correct me if I'm wrong but I saw somewhere that the starter motor was especially robust to be able to handle the frequent stops and starts. I would think the Eliminator would prolong the life of the starter as it isn't being used near as much.

Got mine delivered saturday, plugs in right under the dash, works perfectly! Now I have to remember not to push the button or I turn it on!! Came at the perfect time as it hasn’t been above zero for 36 hours!

Why would one pick the harness over OBD? Is there a negative to the OBD or just wanting to leave the port open for other things?
