Default Applink

How do I get applink to find my apps like Spotify? 2018 F150 with sync 3 and a Galaxy SO. When I have it search for apps it can't find any. I tried it with Spotify open and nothing.

I’m having the same problem. Just purchased a 2019 King Ranch a week ago and for the 1st time today I tried to use applink and it does not work. Applink does not recognize any apps from my iPhone XR. I followed instructions to the tee. I enabled mobile apps in sync settings, I disabled Apple CarPlay, I opened the app I wanted applink to recognize, I plugged in to USB and get the message “ no mobile apps found”. I’ve even done a master reset on sync and still nothing. I’m out of ideas at this point and troubleshooting tips on the ford owner site are pretty much worthless. On the other hand Apple CarPlay seems to work just fine.

Any ideas / suggestions on what to try next will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks all !

Well after reading all of those other posts It sounds like I should be glad the system couldn’t find or recognize any apps because they likely wouldn’t have worked anyway. The most depressing thing is those posts started in 2016 and here we are 2 years later and apparently Ford did nothing to fix / improve the reliability. It looks like I shouldn’t waste anymore of my time on it and just be glad Apple CarPlay works and use it. Most of those other posts had to do with not getting the music apps Spotify and Pandora to work. I’m old school and still buy my music from iTunes and my iPod with over 7000 songs seems to work as good in this new truck as it did my previous 2 Fords which means it skips an occasional song and every now and then ejects the device and I need to reset it and plug it back in to the USB port. The problems are so intermittent and quirky though going to the dealer and having them try to diagnose and fix it would be totally worthless.

Ford is smart enough to outsource their high end stereo builds to top brand companies in the stereo business like Sony, B&O etc. so maybe some day they’ll be smart enough to do the same with their Sync system choosing a computer company like Dell or Apple who know how to properly integrate software with hardware and produce a good reliable product.

If Apple Car Play is not working on your truck right now (it is a 2016 correct), you will need to purchase a new USB hub. This is the part number for the one in the center console double USB plug. HC3Z-19A387-B it has a Blue back light. If you another style USB plug I am not sure of the number, but check Tascaparts.com and look it up for a 2017 with the same options as yours.

Thanks Mike. Apple CarPlay IS working fine. It’s Sync Applink that is not working. When CarPlay is off or disabled and the phone is plugged in Applink does not recognize any of the Applink supported apps.

Which app are you trying to use? Applink only works with certain apps like Waze and you need the latest version of the app.
