That is a torsion bar in the tailgate with a flex step - you want to keep that in place and change the left roller (hinge)....the tailgate with the flex step is very heavy, and the torsion bar assists with lifting it up. that roller is only $7.00 or so...

yeah u right,,i just make a mistake,,are any way i can put it back the bar?

Finally did it,,done with the tailgate with flexstep,swap from 2016 to 2020,,have some crack sounds from the torsion bar i guest?coz i take it out before n put it in,,might be not right position???

Are U know what part is that Sir?are that needed for tailgate with flex step?coz mine are very heavy to lifted up n have some crack sounds when pull it up,,thanks

Old thread - my apologies for reviving it, but am looking for teardown pics to see how much fabrication a retrofit would take. I have yet to bedline mine, so any modifications or welding on the inner surfaces would be just fine. Any chance you have more pics from the work above?
