Im speaking from experience on this as I changed my gate over to a step gate.
u know what part # for the hinge from bed driver side?coz i bought the tailgate with step n the hinge was different from without,,so need replace the hinge from the bed

My ‘15 Lariat didn’t have the step. Never bothered me. My ‘16 Platinum has one. The tailgate is way heavier with it. I have never used it other than to show people. For me it’s quicker and easier to just swing my knee up on the tailgate and jump on up. Takes me 2 seconds.

Honestly I’d probably prefer not having it. I wouldn’t trade unless it was an ingot silver Platinum tailgate tho.

yes is really heavier then without,,i needed for my wife,coz always she always get some stuff to the bed,,,,thanks for the recommendation

Anybody can confirm,,are this hinge i needed for my 2016 platinum tailgate with flex step?for driver side from bed,,

Love my tailgate step, but as mentioned throughout this thread, it cannot be added unless you swap out the tailgate with one from a wrecked or parts truck.

I have many lower body injuries from a huge auto accident a couple years ago, and getting into the bed is very tough (impossible if I am tired) without the step. With the step, it’s still not a breeze but is much easier. For me, it’s well worth the added weight.

thanks,,i get someone tell me to pull out the bushing,,just loosen the 2 bolts(smaller) from passenger side tailgate n slide the bushing out coz connect to the long bar,,n thats it,,no need to replace hinge or anything,,
