Default Adding Tailgate step

Has anyone had the tailgate step added after purchase? I was looking at the accessories and I don't see it listed. That is one option I really wish I had.

I asked the dealer about the same thing when I bought mine. They told me the only way to add it is to replace the tailgate.

Same for me, I wish I had bought my truck with a tailgate step. Might buy a BedStep someday from AMP Research. Kind of expensive for what it is, but then again it's much cheaper than replacing the tailgate.

I'm interested in the same. Only way to know is to take the cap off your tail gate and see if there are cut outs for the rails to slide through. I wonder even if there aren't if we can simply cut the holes out and bolt the brackets on.

Aftermarket retrofits like this tend to be expensive. The only way to do it with a factory step is, as mentioned before, purchase a new tailgate. Not sure what's out there on the aftermarket side of the house.

Best,

You'd spend well over a grand to add an OE step.

Your best bet is to wait a bit until 15s start showing up in junkyards and buy a complete tailgate in the right color.

Buying all the parts new at a dealer will be cost prohibitive.
