I guessed that it would be, because when I checked the fuse box under the hood,
the fuses for rear window defrost and the heated mirrors fuse were present.

Did you check to see if you have the fuses present ?
It's possible that you may only need to add the heated mirrors fuse,
it's also possible that location in your fuse box doesn't have the wiring populated which will make this a lot harder.

If you look in your owners manual you can find a diagram of your underhood fuse box that
lists the number of each fuse and it's function,
then you can check to see if that fuse is present and if not check to see if you have terminals for a fuse or just a blank spot.
If the slot is empty, you should be able to tell by shining a flashlight into the slot if it has terminals for a fuse.

I am curious if your truck has everything in place and if it's an XL or an XLT,
mine is the 300A XLT, so it did not have heated mirrors or heated back window but,
it was prewired for those things including having the fuses present.
I also replaced my manual seat with a power one and, it was literally plug and play.
Hey, first time post, and have gotten alot of info out of this thread, I have an 18 XLT sport that has just power mirrors, checked the fuse boxes and they all have the facilities for heated, 8 pin harness with all 8 wires there, the truck DID NOT/DOES NOT have rear defrost, I've already purchased and installed the climate control "cluster" that has the rear defrost button on it, was hoping to have it show at least a light before I pulled the trigger on mirrors, been eyeballing 8 pin heated manual fold tows for a while, and was just wondering if there's something I need to do in forscan to enable the heated defrost module, if so it's fun a put back the purchasing if the mirrors cause I'll have to pony up for a ready and software first, blows my mind that I would have to even do it, but was just curious, any info would be great, thanks!
