Default Adding Factory Remote start

Looking to add remote start to my truck. Anyone add factory remote start? Don't know much about the aftermarket kits. So any input on those would be appreciated as well.
Thanks
Chris

I added a factory remote start to my 2011. Basically plug and play, range isn't great but does the trick. I would imagine it's same deal on the new ones.

Yeah I did the same on my 13. But according to ford accessories website it will not work on a 15+

There is an aftermarket Ford Phone app/remote start. It's about $400 and comes with an annual $50 fee - but it works like Onstar - can lock/unlock/find/Start from anywhere with an internet/cell connection. Works very well for long distance if you want start capabilities more than a hundred feet or so.

There are other aftermarket products that some like, but I really like this one. It service my needs.

Read this thread - skip to the last 100 posts or so - this thread is older and the technology/modules changed a couple of years back, so the early discussion about the product applies, but the actual hardware discussed is wrong. It is updated toward the end of the thread.

Edit - I see you are looking to add the remote start - not sure, but this product for $400 assumes you already have remote start - not sure if you can add the remote start in conjunction with this. Read and post in the above thread, there is at least one dealer in that thread that will give you the information you need and tell you if you can do it on your truck.

Good thread with pics of the install - didn't realize that existed, but that also requires Remote Start already be installed on the truck, OP says he wants to add remote start - can you add the modules along with those two to add factory remote start?

The poster in that thread refers to the "remote start" box part of his set up, but he is really referring to the "remote access" box. That set up requires remote start already be installed, or you add it along with it in some way if possible.

There are countless threads, with part numbers, including links to an online dealer regarding what you need to add. All is plug and play. Requires dealer programming, and for Smartphone access $50 per year.
