Default Adding factory dashcam?

Was researching dash cams and found there’s a factory option...

Anyone added this? How easy/hard is the install? Where does it actually mount? This would be on a 2018 XLT screw.

I never knew it was an option. Never seen a new f150 with one in it

That's pretty cool, I knew you could get them on Tundras but I did not know Ford offered it as well. Personally I don't think 1080p is good enough though, 1440p is considerably sharper and can better capture things like license plate numbers.

Shop around - prices down to about 148 but also says it's a discontinued part.

Looks like I found the camera...

I wonder if that wiring harness is where the extra cost comes in. Still interested in if it just is a simple plug and play into the mirror.

Doesn't do anything special, doesn't even tie into the center screen or dash or anything. Still relies on its own SD card. That would be an upside of getting something factory mated but Ford didn't integrate it all. Therefore, I'd buy a dash cam with way better picture quality and just mount it myself.

I’m more interested in having a simple and clean install.
