I ordered a Lariat center stack today, before it gets here I have a quick question- in addition to the single-zone auto temp control, do all manual climate buttons between the ***** work on the panel after the XLT -> Lariat controls swap? (The defrost, A/C, Max A/C, etc...) I don't have heated or cooled sets, so I don't care about them doing anything but looking cool in the stack

Everything works fine if you do not have heated or cooled seats. You will need to make a couple of Forscan changes, that are documented in this thread. Other then that totally plug and play.

I have seen on some of the 12 inch tablet style radio replacements, that they support manual and auto climate controls since they replace the entire bezel. I would think if I installed one of those and made the changes in FORscan for auto climate that it should work the same as swapping for a lariat bezel. Has anyone tried this by chance, or anyone with a XL/XLT and one of those radios willing to try? I've been looking at those radios, but the price is hard to justify. But if it gives me auto climate as well then it would be totally worth it.

OK, so another issue I didn't see in here and I thought I'd add it in, not sure if there is a fix or not, but on my 2016 302A XLT (with heated seats AND a snowplow package (the button above the SYNC screen to disable some accessories including the heated seats to allow less electrical drain) the FCIM works as above listed, the heated seats obviously don't work which we know, but it also disables the snowplow button. Switch was dead, probably because of the issue with the heated seats. Had to take mine out for winter because I kind of need the snowplow for work and want to use the button. Swapped the old XLT FCIM back in, button works.

Did you change the programming in the newer FCIM to match your truck? The snow plow button should work. The heated seats that get shut off are the rear seats. When the snow plow button gets turned on, it shuts off the rear seat heat relay which then provides the power to the controller wire for the plow.

Hi All,

Read through the pages above. Very interested in this mod. New 2019 XLT with 302A and heated seats. Had auto climate on my last truck and really miss it more than any other option I had.

Would like to know form the ones that completed this mod what actually functions for the auto climate portion. I know dual is inop but want to understand if modes change with fan and temp. For example: on a hot day, it would start in full fan on a/c in panel mode then drop fan speed and change mode to panel & floor when the cabin temp was reached. Is this working the same or only dropping fan speed when temp is reached?

Also, from what I can tell from the posts, you need a platinum bezel to get the seats to work. Is this confirmed? Anyone have part numbers? I looked on tasca but everything is discontinued and I cannot find a replacement part number. Anyone have the numbers needed for a Platinum 701A?

Have been terrified of trying forescan but willing to risk it for this mod if it works.

Except for the Dual Zone it works the same as it would in a truck that came from the factory with it.... As for needing a panel from a Platinum to get the heated seats working, Don't hold your breath. I have bought 3 or 4 different panels because it was said the heated seats would work (the last panel I purchased was from a Platinum).....they have not yet - The heated seats are controlled by modules in the upper trims, as opposed to the heating pads in our trucks.

Also worth noting, you will have DTCs after changing the panels since the dual zones require more sensors in the vents & a different sunload sensor

Thanks for the reply.
How are the DTCs displayed? Light on the dash, chime when starting? Don’t want to trade one annoyance for another.

Nothing like that....the only way you'll even know you have these DTCs is if you plug in & check

Hi Gordy,

Ok, that might have been a little confusing. I still have my original FICM inside the dash, I just have a new fascia/buttons from the Lariat:
I swapped in the TC/hill descent button from the truck and the new hazard/snowplow button to this fascia:
