No. It is not that simple. Auto climate control uses a different HVAC housing with dual temperature control. This is not a cheap modification. Requires a new wiring harness, FCIM, HVAC housing and several additional temperature sensors. No XLT had DATC (Dual Automatic Temperature /control) which came on Lariat and above.

I have the harness from Big Blue custom designs to add your heated seats back in. I bought it but never got around to installing it before I sold the truck. Let me know if you’re interested.

The real question now is where is the best spot to splice in the module. If the moderate-speed bus is used, the module could go under one of the seats or in the dash (likely near the gateway). If the high-speed bus is used, the module would have to be in the dash and would either be near the gateway next to the ODBII port or the behind the center controls bezel.
Do you have any more of the modules for the XLT swap to Laramie Heated Seats Control?

Wow—this post deals exactly with what I'm looking for. I have the 2018 XLT and would like a single-zone automatic climate control system—without seat heating for now, because I don't have that installed.

According to your explanation, replacing the cover with the appropriate coding should enable automatic control—at least, that's what I understand from what I've read.

But what I couldn't find out is whether I need to retrofit an interior temperature sensor and a sun sensor.

Thanks—unfortunately, I can't find any help on this topic here in Germany.

Ron

I have the same desire here. My understanding is if you replace the panel you will have single zone climate control but it only controls the fan speed, not the temperature. Can anyone correct me on this? This is why I haven't done it yet.....I want single zone temperature AND auto fan control.

Unhappy you can help me with a FCIM As build data?

Hello from Germany

I have started the same project, as my 2018 XLT also only has a manual single zone.

I replaced the bezel with a dual-zone automatic from a 2018 model and have been trying for days to adjust the configuration in the FCIM module accordingly so that I get a working single-zone automatic.

I have tried many different coding attempts, but without success.

I can't find any help here in Germany, so I'm glad to have found your post.

My attempts to find a solution via various AIs have all been unsuccessful.

Perplexity has now recommended that I obtain an FCIM configuration read from a 2018XLT and compare it with mine.

Can someone please, please, please read these settings from a

2018 XLT, single-zone-automatic and send them to me?

I'm afraid I won't be able to proceed without such sample data.

However, if you can name other sources where I can find the unique codes, I would be grateful for any information.

In your post, I noticed that it then mainly focuses on the problems with the seat heating – that's not my problem for now, as I only have the simplest seats without any electrical functions installed.

Thank you very much for your efforts and help in any form, Ron

Here you can see tha actual configuration into my FCIM
