i actually just did this modification by putting in a Lariat bezel and changing the forscan values.

the auto function works great. The only strange thing is that the outside air temp now just says 50 degrees and it’s closer to 85 outside.

Didn’t know if anyone else has experienced the same.

I did the same mod but I don't have any issues with the outside air reading incorrectly. I didn't have heated seats to start with so I didn't lose anything there.

I understand the system isn't dual zone, but the auto temp works perfect. Prior to the mod I was constantly fiddling with the HVAC controls. A nice side effect is if you use a 502a bezel you get these cool knurled *****. At some point I might see about making the heated/cooled seats work.

Mike. I totally agree it is so much better than fiddling with the controls. Great upgrade.

Were the values you changed in APIM:

7D0-01-01 xxxx xxx2 xxxx
7D0-01-02 xxxx x2xx xxxx

I don't remember off the top of my head. But I did do a screen cap of the spreadsheet and posted it in my build thread. Here what I used. There is a difference, perhaps that's the issue with your outside temp.

Thanks Mike.

I figured it out. Wasn't a problem at all, I just didn't wait long enough for the ambient air temp sensor to adjust after making the APIM changes.

Nice truck btw...

This is one interesting mod. But I don't want to lose heated seats going into Michigan winter

Just thought I'd bring this up again. I'd buy the bezel and program it if I could keep my heated seats. Anyone figured it out? Wondered if it might be as simple as changing the wiring connector at the seat.

Anybody know if the 2016-2018 Lariat bezels are the same for the 2019? I just bought my 2019 XLT this weekend and I am seriously considering this for my first big mod. I can't stand adjusting the manual controls all the time.

I am not sure but I have 2 bezels here from 16-18 and own a 19 so I will take a look this evening.

SO just the bezel with controls and a code change lets auto climate work without dual zone. Nice. I figured it would complain about missing info and missing outputs.
