I feel like if I wait there will still always be issues with the newer year trucks no matter what.
If you're looking for transportation that will get you where you want to go, is cheap to repair and gets amazing gas mileage...here it is!

I vote 2019 unless it's a big price discount. It's already 2019. If you trade the truck in 3 years you will have a 3 year old truck with the 2019 and a 4 year old truck with the 2018, it won't matter value wise that you only had it 3 years, it will be considered 4 years old.

Same dilemma.
Been looking for a 2018 3.5 Lariat 502A but pickings are slim here now plus I'm being picky and want Camel interior.
Figured I could get a deal on a 2018 King Ranch but found I was compromising on colour, engine, and rear end and still paying more than I wanted for not much more
Think i'm going to order a 2019 Lariat with everything I want

If you want a CD player get an 18, (not available on a 19) ,but make SURE it has everything you want, AND is a great deal. As others have said it's depreciated a full year, which is a lot. If you are going to keep it a long time, does it matter??? only you can decide.

Allen.
P.S. I bought my '17 KR CC LB November 30th of '17. got a slammer of a deal plus 0%. Worked out WAY cheaper than I could order a loaded '18 Lariat from my dealer. REALLY wanted the restyled '18 and maybe with a diesel because of fuel mileage. Super happy I pulled the trigger on the '17 KR after the diesel's only get avg 25 mpg.

In the end DON'T settle! these just cost too much to not get exactly what you want, just make sure you know what you want. Never thought I would want some of the things on a KR, but man am I glad I have one now. It's your money

Yes but that extra value in 3 years won't come anywhere near making up for the price difference today. At least around here, 19's are only discounted about 5k while the 18's are discounted 10k+. Meanwhile on the used lots there is little difference in price between a 15 and 16 with compable mileage. I know because I just spent two months trying to find a decent used one before deciding to buy new. In a truck it's all about mileage.

As far as waiting, yeah I wouldn't count on Ford fixing much of anything until the next generation. Then they will introduce new problems. That's the way they've operated for the past 15 years or so.

I just found this out, the 2019 comes standard With Active Emergency Braking (W/AEB) per the 2019 build sheets I've seen (all Canadian)

I'd go for a good deal on an 18
2019's don't have CD players. Deal breaker!
