Here you go sir, listen for yourself:

I wasn't sure if this was normal either, but forgot I had recorded this video until you mentioned it.

Also, last week, just for fun, I went and test drove a Titan XD diesel to see what they were about and get rough numbers on the feasibility of getting rid of this noise bucket. I did this exact same test at a stop, in M, foot on the brake, ZERO SOUND, only thing that happened was the indicator on the dash switched from 1 to 2....

I've noticed that shifting sound in manual too...sounds like its shifted by an electric motor.

Same as mine, seems abnormally loud... I would like to know if this is the case for all the 10 speeds, or if it's related to the gear change squeal in 5.0s. Although, when driving in Manual mode and shifting gears manually, I do not get the noise at all.

My last car was a 12 year old Xterra that cost half as much as my truck and I never had any issues with it. Nissan was one of my customers, and I was pretty impressed with their quality/engineering. But I had a Z plan discount and wanted an American truck so I went F150 (the Titan is built in the Canton, MS though).

A buddy of mine has the same tranny with the 3.5 EB. I’ll give him a buzz and shoot a comp video for us

I finally got the truck into service today, must say, so far all the people at my dealership that I've interacted with have been fantastic people. I'm hoping they'll have some answers for me when I get the truck back next year....lol

Of note, while I was there, they were kind enough to take me out in a 2018 Lariat 3.5EB and I heard the EXACT SAME TRANSMISSION whine. So at this point, it's gotta be one of two things, 1. Normal for the 10R80 and I'll just have to learn how to accept it or 2. There was a bad batch of pumps/other part put in the transmissions in all three trucks I've driven. Particularly, every transmission I've actually driven (all were from the same dealership, build date of 10/18 and Kansas City Plant) have had this awful squeek/whine noise when shifting. I still don't know if it's normal, I know that Mike Rudnicki has a different built date and the noise. But a friend of mine with an EB doesn't have any whine when shifting. Still don't know what to think about it. The Lariat was about 90% quieter than mine though, the salesman riding with us mentioned the Lariat might have different under body insulation/acoustic glass? Can anyone confirm? I know my lowly FX4 XLT does have the "Acoustic Glass" per the stamped label on the door glass.

I really wish Ford would watch my video!

Hopefully the dealership can resolve my other problems, aside from these few issues, I really do love the truck!

Let us know if you get anything fixed. There are many of us on here that have those exact same problems. Mine is a Kansas City truck too if that makes any difference.

I got tired of these same problems. I drive by a GMC dealer every day and have been admiring from afar the new 2019 AT4. I finally decided to stop and test drive one with a 6.2 and factory cat back performance exhaust and fell in love with it. I’ve had it now for 3,000 miles with no problems. Go test drive one and see what you think.

Yeah that’s what I’m starting to worry about. All the noises are driving me crazy. Aside from that. I love the truck. I got a great deal and 0% on it too. So that’s making the idea of jumping ship hard to swallow.

Hopefully the dealer makes it right. Thats why I started this thread. Hope to keep a running play-by-play of what they’re doing so others with the same problems can either get their trucks fixed too. Or not have to waste their time going through all this bs. I’m still pretty disappointed that a brand new vehicle would have a transmission that whines like this as “normal”

Thanks for the tip on GMC, maybe I’ll go test drive one just for fun. Drove a gorgeous Ram 2500 Diesel today and literally almost pulled the trigger just to rid myself of these noises

Just picked up the loaner, Brand new Exploder. Won’t be able to compare noises. Bummer!

Shifts better and quieter than my F-150 though. Lol

so just for shiggles i went and checked the 1-2 shift in m on mine and while not as loud as yours i can still hear it but only with the window open. i can also feel it each time it shifts from a slight jump once the gear engages. but mine does not come anywhere close to the main whine yours has during normal driving.
