Most 2020s aren't included because they were built after the cam phasers were revised.

Mine is a March 2020 build, just about to roll over 30k, and quiet so far.

I have an August 2020 build date. I have 13k miles and my motor is very quiet!

Anyone?
you ever get this figured out ?

Safety recalls should apply to salvage titles, but I think these types depend on the manufacturer. I had a Lexus years ago with a salvage and they would do all recalls on that vehicle, and give me a full tank of gas.

is this considered a safety recall? Thought it was a CSP issue. Not sure if that makes a difference ? Anyone ?

that sucks dude. Ford in carson city, nv had my truck from middle of jun til end of August, got it back, notneven 800 miles later same issue. Tach is all iver, whole truck shakes like ive thrown a motor mount.....it went back 2 Saturdays ago, they still have it, and no word on when theyll even get to it. So glad my monthly note is only $540 a month. All summer basically with no truck. No camping, no family trips. Good job Ford.

Hi all,
I'm new here. I have a 2018 F150 Sport with the 3.5L engine. My truck has about 91,500 miles on it. I just got the truck back from the dealer after having the cam phasers replaced. I drove it home from the dealership (about 10 miles) and parked it in the driveway. I smelled antifreeze when I got out of the truck and found a pool of it under the truck. I checked the radiator and hoses and nothing. I called the dealership and had them come get the truck. They say the water pump is leaking and needs to be replaced. They said it has nothing to do with the cam phaser work. This truck has never leaked a drop of anything before the cam phaser work was done. Does this sound correct? I am going to fight this. I would gladly pay for the part, but the labor should be "eaten" by the dealership.

The knocking or rattling coming from the phaser doesnt hurt anything. I had a 2008 f150 5.4L and cam phaser on passengerside rattled like crazy, I replaced it myself and after about a month the new part started rattling too. There are plugs that can be installed to permanently place the phasers in the advanced position for the 5.4 with a cpu update which fixes the rattle. I traded the truck in before I found out about it.

dont know if there is an aftermarket solution like this for the 3.5 like the 5.4

I would think the water pump has to come off to do the phasers

My water pump was changed when my cam phaser were replaced. I'm pretty sure the water pump comes off when they change the phasers. I would definitely push back about them covering the labor and maybe the part. TSB 22-2200 have the coolant pump gasket and o-ring being replaced so they were in there. https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/20...12106-0001.pdf & 21N03 https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/20...09366-0001.pdf
