Default 2017 Sync 3 update

I, too, am waiting patiently for the update for my 2016 Sync 3. But, I have two questions that I am curious if anyone has any info on... other than CarPlay and Andriod...

1) I believe some of the 2017 Ford vehicles with Sync 3 (Fiesta? other?) have hit the streets? If so, does anyone know of any other new features or changes in the 2017 Sync 3 update in those vehicles?

2) Does the F150 get the same updated functionality as new 2017 cars get in their Sync 3 software... if any? (not talking about carplay and android... I am talking about other basic stuff... like improving Nav... Audio, etc...

Here is a hotter tip. Sync 3 isn't Microsoft based.

Sync Connect is supposed to debut in the 2017 F150.

I'm an IDIOT. I was talking crap about Microsoft who did the Sync and Sync 2 which is crap when BlackBerry, the dead company that no one respects or believes in because they refused to leave 1990, makes your sync 3.

Either way, still a s*** product. We can argue all day on this but that's my opinion and I am sure you have yours

I respect your opinion, but curious as to what specifically sucks about Sync3? I have a '16 with Sync3 and love it. It's fast and responsive, uncluttered, intuitive to use, has all the features and more that I might expect, is upgradable over my home WIFI network, reads texts to me, integrates with Siri... I think they did a great job.

QNX (what's powering Sync3) may be Blackberry owned, but they are major player in the infotainment systems. Blackberry bought them to combat Apple. QNX also powers the Dodge/Ram Uconnect which I'd argue is one of the better systems (that customers like) out there.

For those who don’t know QNX, it’s a micro-kernel based operating system with a sophisticated graphical user interface, a modern POSIX-based tool-chain, and a fully distributable architecture. In layman’s terms, that means it’s more stable than LINUX, runs in less memory than any of LINUX, OS X, or Windows – even the embedded versions, pretty to look at for users, and easy to develop software for using skills that are relatively common in the industry.

Qnx is in 50 million vehicles, including brands such as Acura, Audi, BMW, Chrysler, Ford, GM, Honda, Hyundai, Jaguar, Land Rover, Maserati, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Toyota, and Volkswagen and if that wasn't good enough news, a new report coming from IHS Automotive names QNX Software Systems as the market leader in infotainment software.
"QNX Software Systems is the clear leader in automotive software, specifically for infotainment, and is forecasted to remain the leader for years to come — growing from more than 16 million units in 2013 to 56 million in 2020," said Egil Juliussen, director of research, infotainment and ADAS, IHS Automotive.
In total, more than 40 automotive OEMs now use QNX software, including the QNX Neutrino OS, the QNX CAR Platform for Infotainment, and QNX acoustics middleware, for their head units, handsfree systems, connectivity modules, and digital instrument clusters. The 2015 year examples alone will include the virtual cockpit in the Audi TT, the entertainment system in the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe, and the new OnStar 4G LTE system for GM vehicles — a range of systems that reflects the sheer flexibility and scalability of QNX technology.

RIM might have lost the cell phone market, but their systems are way more stable than Microsoft's. I'd have to think on that alone Sync 3 would be better than the previous versions.

Sync 3 is viewed as one of the top performing systems out there. With Car play and Android auto coming it will only make it better. I'm not sure how someone can call it crap. Have you ever used other manufacturers units?
