2016 xlt sync services?
I just bought a 2016 SCrew and it has the sync 3. This is all new to me. My question is, when I go to the sync services on ford owner it says my vehicle is not compatible with sync services. Is this because it is an XLT and not higher end? I would like to be able to send directions to my truck through the destinations app, but it seems pretty useless for my system.

You can download an app for your phone that replaces Sync services, but I don't believe that Ford is planning on doing the directions that way anymore. You'd need the NAV package to do that natively on screen right now.
On a hopefully brighter note, Ford has said that Apple and Google's car offerings should work on Sync3 later this year, after an update.
Edit: Wow! Ford service was the first to reply. Go Ford!
That would be sweet if they could get Google to work with my truck. I tried chat with ford earlier and they were the ones that referred me to sync services??? Oh well. Still trying to figure this all out. My mobile apps don't show up on the screen either, but IHeart radio will play via Bluetooth at least. I keep trying to update mobile apps but it just keeps saying updating and never goes any further. Any thoughts on that? Thanks!
Make sure it's the iHeart Auto app that you have downloaded. Here's a link on how to use Mobile Apps:

Take a look and let me know if you have any questions. (Please note: This link is for the 2016 Escape with SYNC 3, but the instructions are the same for all SYNC 3 systems.)

Rebecca... I am taking delivery of my '16 F150 XLT 02/06/16 build. Will I be charged a fee for Android Auto capability? We are loyal Ford owners, but it seems most competitive vehicles already have this up and running, and Ford isn't quite ready.

Here's the latest information:
"In North America, Ford is making Apple CarPlay and Android Auto available on all 2017 vehicles equipped with SYNC 3, starting with the all-new Ford Escape. Owners of 2016 vehicles equipped with SYNC 3 will have an opportunity to upgrade later in the year."

How, when, and pricing information (A.K.A. fee or no fee) hasn't been released yet, but I'm sure we'll release another press release as we get closer to its release.
