Default Sync 3 Apps

If I may jump on your thread, I also had a Sync 3 question. I am also the brand new owner of a 2016 XLT, and I love it! I'm confused by SYNC apps however. I've only found a few (Pandora, Spotify, iHeartRadio, MLB at bat, and one other that has something to do with location broadcasting). Am I doing this right - are these all the apps that work right now? My sales guy also told me that SYNC was compatible with "hundreds" of apps, but I can't find any more than those Iisted. Am I missing something?

Was told the same, only to find out only a couple of useful ones. Hopefully CarPlay makes up for this and is offered through an update.

Duh!! I feel dumb. I didn't know there was an auto app. It works, thanks!!
Glad it worked out, JasonPumper! You know where to find us if you have any other questions.

Sppotlight,

Here is a list of apps available for AppLink: https://owner.ford.com/how-tos/sync-...hone-apps.html

We don't have hundreds of apps right now, but look out for more soon: https://media.ford.com/content/fordm...roid-auto.html

Thanks for the response! Looks like I have found the five apps currently available. A shame my sales guy was uninformed. Wouldn't have changed my decision to get the truck (which is awesome on its own) but it did lead to some confusion on my part. In any event, I'll keep my eye out in the future!

After using Sync3 for a while, I have to say that Glympse is hands down the most useful app for me.

Sending my location to a person, for a timed interval was handy. Doing it via my truck screen is great. The truck even notifies me when they view my location.

The other aps... Meh. But then I have never been into streaming my media from the internet, so another person may strongly disagree with that statement.

Love Sync 3 and so far, it's been a good, stable platform. The game changer for me is going to be Android Auto. I can be patient but really can't wait for the support.

FordIV team,

I have a 2016 XLT with Sync3. so far my experience with mobile app is that sometime it shows up in the sync 3 system like iHeartRadio or Pandora ( which i currently have installed on my phone) but sometimes it didn't show up. I am 100% sure that i am using the USB cable to connect my iphone 6s. Has other users reported similar issues?

The apps connect via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi not the USB cable.

Take a look and let me know if you have any questions. (Please note: This link is for the 2016 Escape with SYNC 3, but the instructions are the same for all SYNC 3 systems.)

Rebecca

Can you send me the link to the Apple App Store iheart auto link? I only have the Ford Owner app and have not been able to get it to work with my '16 Lariat Sport with Sync3 and 502A. Thanks
