Vin numbers mean nothing as far as build date. It's been discussed time and time again.

Thanks for the insight.

You have me a bit nervous now. If the truck arrives and isn't exactly what I'm expecting I will walk away and demand my $500 deposit back.

Has anyone's custom order ever been wrong?

Mine was produced April 11 in Dearborn and I picked it up one week later on April 18 in Charlotte NC! It only took 7 days to get here, I was shocked.

Here it is.

Default Question About Order

I ordered mine on 3-29-16. My salesman is also the sales mgr., I have not heard anything about my order.

I thought they would contact me with a vin or approx build date, but nothing in 4 wks.

I will stop by and see whats up, but if there is info as far as a build date, should I be asking to see the build sheet to be sure what I ordered is on the build correctley?

Thanks for any input!

I would contact them and ask for the VIN, and priced "DORA" Dealer Order Receipt Acknowledgement. it's basically the note back from ford that says "We got your custom order, and here is what we are building" what it says is what they will/should build (it has happened where trucks show up different than the DORA, it's rare, but it happens, but it does get resolved)

With the VIN you should be able to goto the research mechanics web site and get your window sticker which should match the DORA (but the DORA is gospel)

It does happen, someone just a few weeks ago ordered a 2.7EB and ended up with 5.0 V8, but negotiated with Ford and the Dealer in the end. If it isn't what you ordered you can simply refuse delivery (never leave the dealership with the vehicle if you are unhappy!)

Normally the dealer either negotiates with you to take it with the wrong bit and compensates you, unless it's really something you didn't want, and then a re-order has to happen or it's fixed by the dealer.
