2016 Tracking Thread
I just called and got an update. My build date was yesterday and my truck has moved into "awaiting shipment" status, so that tells me she got built yesterday. No fuel tank or tail light delays.
I suspect Ford orders the parts for the trucks under some sort of "just in time" supply set up. I think that is why they are so strict on changes once the VIN is issued. The parts for the truck likely set aside in the system at that time. This is all just a guess on my part, I'm just glad my truck slipped in before any delays.

It's simply impossible for them to stock all of the parts for all of the possible variations.
That being said, good to know things are flowing over there, i'm 2.0 weeks into my wait, and it's killing me!!! Someone asked me the other day if I knew the time it would enter the line and I have background checked the workers on the line I am so obsessed.
Okay. Final update for me: Received my truck on Monday. It was still on the train about 30 miles away so my dealer sent a driver over to get it for me. Apparently, they had trucks broken into at the train depot (?) where the trains were and trucks that were sitting out (I guess). They weren't going to let my truck go but he forced them to. Luckily in my case, mine wasn't one of the broken into ones. Anyway, I've been driving it for 2 days. Never had a grey truck, always green or burgundy exterior. Decided to try different and go with Magnetic/burgundy brunello interior. I have to say, comparing this to my '07 KR Green w/hardly any options other than the leather seats, this new truck is like a Lincoln Continental w/a truck bed.
It drives like a car only bigger. The roof is something else. Wow, it really does bring the sky into the vehicle in ways the standard smaller moonroof of the past just didn't do. To me, it's like a luxury car but just not as smooth a ride of course due to the FX4 off road package. It's quiet inside though. Really takes some getting used to. Really enjoying it so far. So many things to play with on this platinum and with my busy life, it's going to be a fun thing to explore over the next month or so. Maybe even longer... Compared with my Dad's 2012, and mine as well, you can definitely tell the Aluminum with how quick this truck is. Feels really light, but not flimsy if you know what I mean.
Over all timeline:
Ordered: 1/28
Vin and sticker: 2/24
Build: 3/2
Received: 3/28
Overall, around an 8 week turnaround. I was told it would be 4-6 week turnaround. SO, if you're being told that, expect 8-10 weeks. That way, it will be a surprise if it comes quicker.

You are lucky you have your window sticker because apparently, they are discontinuing the ability for people to see them on the ford direct website. I PMd Nick at Ford Service about my window sticker and this is his reply. I guess you can go to this website and "purchase" a window sticker. At least that what his message seems to indicate. I haven't tried it yet. Seems odd that now you have to pay money to see the window sticker for a $40K+ vehicle you're buying.
Here's his response
Hope you're doing well. I just checked on your F-150, and it's currently in the processing stage, has been scheduled to build the second week of April, and has an ETA of 4/30/16 (subject to change).
The window sticker link has been discontinued, so it won’t be available when it goes into production like others have before. We are still looking into this, but you can also purchase one at http://www.fordshowparts.com/store.cfm?store_id=1.
Have a great night!
Nick
PS.... I just went to the website above. You enter your VIN number, then they charge you $35. Then, IF the window sticker is available, they send it to you. I didn't go thru with it because I don't want to pay $35 for something that might not even be available. How absurd!

All of the manufacturers work on JIT shipping/arrival. They are super **** about delivery times too, if they say a delivery has to be between 9 and 10AM and you show up at 10:05 -- you pay a penalty.

I actually explored sending a tons doughnuts to the factory yesterday with instructions that they go to the guys on the assembly line with VIN written on the boxes. It's a sickness.
Has anyone written a script to automagically update their ETIS and COTUS pages? COTUS doesn't even find my order...
Kind of confused on build dates - what really is correct?
1) Ford Customer Service gave a build date of 3/21. I accept that is an estimate.
2) Window Sticker finally appeared and the blend date was 20160326 - Saturday, March 26th
3) Ford ETIS finally partially populated and it is showing a build date of March 29th
I know it doesn't take three days for the vehicle to run down the line. So, to satisfy my curiosity, which date do I believe? Is the ETIS date maybe the date it was finally put into that system?
Paul
ps: has anyone noticed if it takes a few days for ETIS to fully populate? The full description of all the options and build items still hasn't appeared, only the truck type, motor and transmission.

What is the number you guys are calling to find out information? Do you just provide vin or what? I'm getting impatient finding out about my truck due to the whole wrong engine thing. It is supposed to be built on monday and now i dont know if my sticker hasnt populated or if I just dont get it until I pay. Afraid that if they got the engine wrong it could have other issues as well.
And again - my build sheet that i signed was 100% correct. A little annoyed with my dealer who keeps telling me just to "wait and see it when it gets here".
