Picked up my 3.5L EB 4x4 SCrew over the weekend. Ordered it 12/12, Build date was 2/5, and Delivery was 3/6. It arrived and sat on the storage lot an hour from here for a bit over two weeks before making its way to the dealer. Anyways, very happy finally. I'm planning to remove the 4x4 decal as soon as we get some dry weather... understand a heat gun should melt the adhesive pretty easily, right? Any gotchas to watch out for?

Bill.

Sitting over 2 weeks on a lot doing nothing would drive me crazy. Great looking truck.

I was able to pull the "Sport" sticker right off my XLT with no problem, no heat required and no residue leftover. I think the sooner the better.

Now I'm curious how many of you guys expecting new trucks will take off the decals?

I had the dealer take off the decal and turn off the fake engine noise.

Decals and eco boost badges coming off at dealer. With fake engine noise off too.

I will have no problem with my FX4 and will wear it proudly. Other brands have far louder graphics and badges. Don't have the truck yet so my opinion may be premature. As far as the fake engine noise, I have a whole list of things to check before I take delivery. If I find this trickery annoying I will request it be shut off.

I have requested that my dealer remove the 4x4 decals. I would really like to remove any branding that I can without having to do body work. Also can someone please explain the "fake" engine noise.

The fake engine noise is just that...artificial sound the vehicle pumps out through the front speakers to simulate a louder engine noise. It can be disabled by the dealer or yourself.

Thanks for the link. If I understand this correctly fake engine noise is pumped through the front stereo speakers. Ok I need to disable that, I really don't want to a have anything that interferes with the music I listen too. OK so perhaps some engine noise might acceptable when listening to Bachman Turner Overdrive's FOUR WHEEL DRIVE but that's about it.
