Default 2.7 using coolant

Usually, a closed systems will not loose anything, but I did notice today that after 1 year, and roughly 6500 miles the coolant level is down to min from max. Not a lot, but make me stop and look harder. Never seen any leaks. Has anyone experienced this?

Just for the hell of it, have a look at your oil to see if it looks funny. As in, coolant mixed in with it... Funny color, foamy etc... Could be a sign of a blown head gasket.

You're checking the coolant cold, right?

Take it to the dealer, have them top it off and then measure over time if it drops again. If it does, I'd say you have a problem.

Probably will. I try not to get bent about these little things. Doesn't matter the brand, they are machines, and they all have flaws. Ours is just the best looking , I think.

I would say it's very likely due to the final little bits of air getting purged from the cooling system over time. The factory puts a vacuum on the system to fill it, and probably gets 99.9% of the air out, but there's always a little bit that will get trapped, and works it's way out over continuous heating/cooling cycles. I'll bet if you top it off now, and keep an eye on it, it won't change much any more.

Will do. I just thought it odd to be down. I'm surprised our vehicles don't suffer worse than they do here in Phoenix.

Does the dealer sell the same coolant as the factory fill?
