I have a feeling the pumps are more accurate than the computer as each pump is calibrated individually. The computer readout is programmed to an average and therefore does not allow for minor differences in the components that make op the engine and fuel Systems.

There's a reason why Ford removed the gallons used gauge on the 16's. It wasn't accurate.

Just got back from my Easter trip to my parents. 27.5mpg on the way there, round trip was down to 26.7mpg because my brother wanted to play around a bit in sport mode. 450 miles total still have some gas left in the tank.

'15 Lariat 2.7 3.55, 4x4, tow package 275/65/18 tires...computer is always about 1.5-2 MPG high. My last tank I got 19 mpg and on track with this tank to get 20 mpg. That's 55-65 speeds and 60/40 highway/city. That's driving like a grandpa trying not to use any boost.

I'm not elated about it but not sad about it either. I'm assuming the people getting into the mid to upper 20s are 4x2 and have smaller gears.

I'm guessing we're back to summer blend E10 here in WI, mpg went from solid 19 up to 21 over the weekend. Or removing the mudflaps improved aerodynamics that much, doubt it.

Mine also jumped 3mpg this weekend. Thinking that's why we saw the spike last week before the change now with the summer flowing its dropping again.

I have had my 2016 XL 2.7 4x4 with 3.55 rear end for about 3 weeks now and I am very impressed by the gas mileage. My first road trip was about 260 miles with a steady headwind and I got a calculated 19.3 mpg with the computer reading 19.5 so I was happy to see that. That was running 72 mph 95% highway. Just took another trip with the truck at 1200 miles and with a tail wind I avg'd 25 mpg exactly. I changed the oil to full synthetic 5w30 and put a drop in AEM dryfilter in and on the return trip with a 5 mph headwind I got 22.5 mpg running 72 mph. This motor continues to impress me. If you learn how to drive them you can get amazing mpg. Every truck is different and I drive mine spiritedly around town but conservatively on the highway. Around town I get about 17.5 avg which is not bad for a truck at all.

After reading all the comments I decided to take my 2015 XLT 2.7 ecoboost out for an extended drive just to see what kind of mileage I could get. My truck is a 4x4 with a 3.55 rear end. I did a little around town driving and little country driving. My truck has just a little over 1000 miles on it and I averaged 26.2 mpg - this is with me staying out of the boost and not using sport or tow mode. Just around town I have averaged 20 to 22, which is amazing to me considering my 2005 Ford Ranger with a 4 cylinder engine never managed better than 22 mpg!

I drove from Tampa to Deltona, almost 200 miles, pulling a car dolly loaded with a Civic. MPG was around 19 miles, speed between 60 and 70 MPH.
I love my 2015 F150 FX4 Screwcab.
