2.7 mpg/performance

I would love to know how the government justifies changing gas and adding equipment to cars to reduce emissions but get worse mpg... If I burn more to go the same distance I'm sorry we're emitting more.

'15 Lariat 2.7 3.55, 4x4, tow package 275/65/18 tires...computer is always about 1.5-2 MPG high. My last tank I got 19 mpg and on track with this tank to get 20 mpg. That's 55-65 speeds and 60/40 highway/city. That's driving like a grandpa trying not to use any boost.
I'm not elated about it but not sad about it either. I'm assuming the people getting into the mid to upper 20s are 4x2 and have smaller gears.

This is back in January, a little trip to a relative's house on a freeway doing 50-55mph. I know it's only 40 miles but it was a 1-hour round-trip. And this was with winter gas, winter tires on steel rims.
And my old lifetime average of 22.2 MPG over 30,000km's which I stupidly reset by accident. The mileage window reset a few times because it only goes to 9999 and then back to zero. It was much higher MPG before winter hit. I haven't bothered taking new mileage measurements and won't until the warm weather comes back.

if theres one thing i have learned about the 2.7, it can beat its mpg rating if you drive it correctly, 55 mph, anticipating stops, gradual acceleration makes a huge difference in overall mpg. When i try to do the best I can possibly do I have got 27.1 and recently 27.8 mpg, when I'm not trying it usually ends up 24-26 mpg but i have a regular cab 2wd so my truck is very light

My feelings exactly. The best I've gotten is 22.2 on the computer which is really 20.7....
All I can think of is that it has to with all our hills and mountains here in Oregon. But who knows. Haha.
And yes I drive it like a grandpa. No turbo, super slow acceleration and all that jazz. Wonder why there is such a discrepancy.

Recently got 26.1 on a trip to FL in my 2WD Supercrew Lariat 501A with 3.31s.
Speeds were 66 MPH on 4 lane highways and 70 on I-10.
For 90 miles on the way back on 4 lane highway at 66 MPH, I got 27.1.
Stop and go will kill MPGs in anything. Cruise control and hilly terrain will kill it too. Overall, very happy with 2.7.
