My 16 2.7 XL 4X4 SCrew Sport with aluminum 20's is now at a steady average of 18.7 at 78 MPH with 8800K in 2 months of driving.

It it may go up 1-2 with summer fuel but only time will tell.

A few tanks in snow with lower speeds it was over 20 but who drives 60 on the hwy if they don't have to.

I used to get 20 -21 consistent in my 11 3.7 FFV 2WD SCrew. Unless I ran E85 I got 15MPG hwy and 12 city but it was night and day what the engine could do with E85 since the 109 octane I believe was the reason it could redline easy and take off.

This 2.7 TT would run circles around the last truck and the 4X4 is bad *** on this 16.

Arrow MPG's

I'm averaging 23.2mpg with 2016 SCab 2.7 EB XLT 4X4 3.55 82%HWY 10k mi. on Fuelly http://www.fuelly.com/car/ford/f-150...ptjones/429143 I have 50psi and ARE Cap on back. The Truck is a box so going less than 70mph helps and extended drafting(100 ft back) of Semi's definitely helps. Getting good is a mind set focused on MPG's.

as much as have to agree with you on the one you see in the mirror, i am very aware of my driving style. always looking to squeeze out as much mpg's as i can meaning being as light as possible on the go pedal.

that being said, my truck specs are: 2015 xlt 2WD scab 2.7eb, 301a, 3.73 elec lock diff, 2016 20" sport wheels with 40-42 psi at any given time, roll-n-lock bed cover, 15k miles, mobil 1 only

during the first 500-800 miles after driving off the dealer lot it did get decent mileage. and it just went downhill from there.

towing my 2200lb race car on an 850 lb aluminum trailer my mpg's go down to low teens on the highway at 70 mph give or take. and my 22' center console boat, i don't even want to go there

so no, when i look, i don't blame what i see in the mirror on the crappy mpg's my truck gets. it's a statement of fact that my truck does not get anywhere near the mileage that ford claims nor what other owners claim. just my experience. otherwise love the truck

Very good numbers. What's funny is that anyone with a modern V8 from the Big 3 could get the same results if they practiced those types of hypermilage techniques. Easily.

Of course that's a lot of hwy miles. With a low average MPH and a flat non-windy daily route at a decent elevation and a good average ambient temp. No towing or payload uses. I'm also confident there's some lightfootedness going on..

from his post. That's a pretty good assumption.

im a huge fan of start/stop. I'm looking forward to this feature on more V8s. If I had that on my truck I could push up over 20 mpg most weeks. It's amazing how much negative mpg you get when burning fuel while idling.

Your 3.73 gears will hold you back from getting better mpgs. But for the kind of towing you do, 3.73's would be my preferred choice.

you can not tow with a 2.7 and expect anything less than terrible mpg. It's got the power but it simply works too hard. I can tow my 4800 lb boat in slightly hilly terrain with my V8 and get 13 mpgs. I've directly compares that against a buddy who rows a similar boat to the same lake in his 3.5 ecobust and he gets 11mpg. No replacement for displacement son. Come on, you should know this.

btw, the loss of mpg from 3.73 from 3.55 is negligible so just ignore those comments. Plus you have 20" wheels. Again, you should know that.

The 2.7 EB should be right sized into a 3500-4000lb vehicle. It would be a beast and get excellent mpg. The upcoming Ranger would be a good candidate for the 2.7EB.
