got it
I don't think I would be getting that same one though.. I was looking around on the Phoenix site, I have the 8" screen with sync 3, 7 speaker system and manual AC I believe. Whats the difference between Dave the SS's and the $699 one?

The $699 version uses their own software but is updated with Android 7.1 and Fastboot. It does not use factory AC controls, and does not retain Sync 3 (No loss in my opinion.)

I lied.. it looks like there are 3 that are all $669 after I select manual AC the price switches to $699 (link below). Since I have been researching and planning ot buy the Linkswell, I dont really know anything about the Phoenix. Are these all the Gen 3 and do I want the android 7.1 a nd fastboot? I have an Iphone, will it connect trhough this still? I dont really use carplay or waze much. I'm also not hell bent on retaining sync 3 as I kind of expect all of that to just go away. I would like to be able to use all my factory/existing USB ports though.

For anyone that has this unit I discovered a setting while playing around that increased the sharpness of the display and improved overall image clarity 10 fold.
Go to:
Settings
Advanced (code is 8861 for Phoenix radios)
Then on the right menu scroll down till you see Light Soft Control. Turn that On.
Power Cycle unit
Now go to:
Settings
Then scroll left menu down till you see Color Set.
You now have two sliders. Brightness and Contrast. I tweaked the Brightness down a bit and then upped the Contrast.
You should notice a huge improvement.
Of note, you may get a new menu during this asking about Pairing, just x or skip it.
