Default Wiper position fail

Greetings all,

I have noticed a problem with my windshield wipers of late. Since the East Coast is being drenched with rain, I have been using my wipers a lot more. I noticed yesterday the passenger side seems to be parking low. This means when it is running it is hitting and scuffing the chrome bezel around the glass. It also makes a noise when it hits. It seems to be one notch too low on the sprocket.

My question is how do I pop off the arm and adjust it to park and thus sweep correctly? Attached is a picture. Notice the left wiper is lower and sitting on the chrome, and the right is always touching only glass.

I just went out with needle nose plyers and can't figure out how to get the wiper arms off. I popped the hood and I don't even see where they connect to the motor. I am assuming I'll have to take off the metal cowl that holds the wiper sprayer and the intake for the cabin blower. Can anyone confirm?

I don't have any clue how to take them off, but my '91 has the same problem you're going through

Pretty simple to take em off. Took mine off and painted them about 2 weeks ago.

Lift up on the arm itself and you will see a little pin/clip thing. Pull it out and let the arm rest on it.

Take some WD40 and spray into the bottom of the arm where it meets the circular gear. Then simply wiggle the whole arm until it pops off.

To put em back on, make sure it is aligned where it is supposed to be, wiggle the whole arm back onto the gear, lift up on the arm, let the clip back in, and lower the arm back on the windshield!

Hope I didnt confuse you, but if you have any questions just ask!

I saw the little clip you mentioned. But it seem to be fastened in there by some weird star type screw. Because of the angle, I can't get a star driver in there.

Turn on your wipers and turn the key off mid-stroke...

No screw, just pull the tab out.

the screws are guides, you pull the little tab that they go through up towards the top of the windshield after pulling the wiper blade away from the windshield. after you get that clip up it just takes a little wiggling to get the arm off the shaft.

x3, no need to unscrew. Basically just pull the tab and wiggle the arm

Thanks for all the info guys. I went out and tried again to pull the clip off. I figured out that I must pull the wiper away from the windshield to get the clip to come out. However it is still stuck in there. I can get it half way out, but not all the way out. Any suggestions?
