How is the truck running? Did you try all the wires?

No it doesn't fit tight but it doesn't read unless it's fully closed.

Yes, you are doing something wrong. You purchased an Actron Product. I went through 2 of them. The wires break inside the cable that goes to the inductive pickup. Wiggle the wires, right where it enters the pick up. When they make contact again, the light will work...until you move something.

I took mine back, got my refund and put the money toward a Snap-On light my buddy had.

There is a very old saying, You get what you pay for.

Mine's (Actron) 5 years old & probably 50 + uses. I keep it bouncing around under my truck's front seat. Yet to fail me.

I would suggest getting one from a different vendor though. They may have a bad "lot".

In a perfect world, everyone would own a "Snap On" timing light.

But it's your money!

Both of mine lived in my toolbox. Both died very early after the first use.

You'll have to do some shopping around.

My Actron also lives in my tool box. Lots of tools piled on it, sometimes pulled out by the wires or the wires hang and it's yanked out. Still works like a charm.
