Probably cutting a steel plate. You can cut it round with a round hole in it or cut it in the shape of a crescent moon. Make sure the speakers aren't too deep. I think they're under the vent window though so they shouldn't interfere with the windows.

I think you'll be disappointed with the bass response of that small of a driver. I just replaced my door speakers with a cheap ($50) set of Kenwoods and the difference is unbelievable. The stock right one was blown, but still.....

Mine are just hanging by one of the screws and the magnet keeps it in place. But if you want an adapter i would go with wood. The metal might mess with the magnet. Infiniti s are picky picky, have some 6010 references in my doors.

i took some plumers tape (the roll of metal with holes) and bolted it to the speaker, then screwed it into the door frame it works ok

The whole door is made of metal.

Yeah, I was thrown about the speakers being "picky picky" with metal, too... Just wasn't going to call him on the carpet for it... But let's hear the explaination of the speakers being "Picky"

Well what I was probably trying to say is the proximity to the metal sheet for a mounting bracket might have been too close. Infinities are very sensitive, and I have blown a couple from that kind of thing. The door is made of all metal yes, but its not sitting right next to the magnet. For example stick a magnet up to a CRT/TV. It goes all goofy. Its kinda the same thing. At least in my experience.

I can see where the metal actually touching the speaker magnet might affect the performance of it, but just making a plate to correct the size of the hole shouldn't.
