Replacing Fuel Filter
Definitely go buy the tool. I had trouble even with the tool on one side of my filter. The "teeth" on the qd were all screwed up and I had to cut out the filter, then fish out the teeth, then go buy replacement teeth. Turned into a 2 hour job. Had to remove the skid plate, etc.
go to napa and tell them you need a tool to remove your fuel filter if there smart they will know what you need.
bad picture but you get the idea, the lil plastic ones that come in a set are junk.

I have both the plastic set and the metal one and in some cases the plastic works better. On the fuel filter I found it easier to remove the two frame screws that hold the filter bracket for more woking room. Use lots of of penetrating oil of your choice, my favorite is Kroil, insert the tool and try push the fitting together and then pull the line or filter back. It should release. It may take a couple of tries and I found it helped to try to turn the line or filter to help release the fingers.
BTW both tools cost less than 10 bucks and I got both of mine for 10.

I have both types also, I hardly ever use the metal one the plastic ones work better for me. But i guess thats the reason they have more than one type of them.
We have a lot of the metal ones like the one in the picture returned because of being bent from being misused. Using the handle to push with instead pushing at the tool itself.
