Default Question

I think I am buying a 1994 f150 302 auto saturday. It's a very nice truck. No rust great paint. my 1989 f150 got totalled about a month ago. It has a great running 300 with a five speed and rebuilt rear end. I was thinking of pulling the engine, trans, rearend, pedal assembly, out of the 1989 in case I need them someday or my new truck? Any advice? Thanks new here to the forums. I have owned over ten f series trucks (87-96) best trucks ford ever made. So could I swap the 300 into a 1994 if I needed to? Thanks

I would think the 300 could be swapped into the 1994 but I can't say for sure. I've never done that swap.
But the blue truck looks as if it could be repaired without spending a lot of money. It looks too nice to scrap for that amount of damage.

Agree that the 300 swap can be done, just have to be sure to grab all the necessary stuff off the donor. Thinking the computer will need to be pulled also, not sure of any wiring / connector differences between the 6cyl and the 8cyl...
If one could find a front cap at the junkyard, might be able to end up with two running blue ovals in the stable. :-)

It could be done but there is a lot of stuff that is different. I would say no, it's not worth hanging on to a 4.9 manual setup as a spare for a 302 auto truck.
Especially with the difference in years.
Too bad about the 89, but that truck's far from totalled.

It's a shame to put that truck out to pasture..............

Well I got the 1994 today. Great truck. Bad news is... the wife wants it. I might end up fixing the 1989. Although there is a lot of damage not seen in the pic. Both front frame sections are bent. Core support would have to be replaced, power steering line broke off at gear. Drivers door is also bent up as well as the fender on drivers side. Wiring for headlights, leaking radiator and leaking fuel line. And the air box is broken. A lot of work but it's probably worth it.

Very nice looking 94 F150. Congrats! I wouldn't bother going to the trouble and expense of swapping engines unless I had to.
